Nixon
& Lindstrom Insurance was founded in 1955 by Jerry Nixon under
the name Jerry Nixon Insurance, Inc.The agency conducted business
under several names including Nixon Ship & Roderick, Nixon
& Roderick, and finally Nixon & Company until 1985. In
1985 Roger Lindstrom joined the agency and the name changed to
Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance as it remains today.
The
agency flourished in the 1980's and saw the addition of Jerry
Nixon's son Mark Nixon in 1981 and son Luke Nixon in 1985 who
joined the agency as salespeople.
The
early 1990's were times of explosive growth for the firm as sales
grew to $9,000,000. In 1995 agency founder Jerry Nixon died suddenly
at the age of 64. Perpetuation planning undertaken years earlier
preserved the firm. Mark Nixon and Luke Nixon purchased all stock
in the agency and continued business operations. Tragedy was to
strike again four years later when in 1999, Mark Nixon died suddenly
at the age of 40. Once again, perpetuation planning allowed the
agency to continue as Luke Nixon purchased remaining shares in
the corporation.
Today
the agency is a leading insurer of business and individual clients
offering a variety of insurance products including Property &
Casualty, Bonds, Health, Life and Professional Liability coverage.
Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance represents 24 of the nations leading
insurance companies and reports sales of over $37,000,000 annually.
